Over the years of specializing in cross training and nutrition with expectant and new mothers, I have developed a truly holistic approach to wellness at every stage of pregnancy. My prenatal workouts for all trimesters (preconception through 4th and beyond) will prepare your body and mind for labor, and build a strong foundation of resiliency for your postpartum journey. Using the most current evidence-based methods with my guidance every step of the way – whenever and from wherever – BodyWiseMama classes are simply:

The BodyWiseMama Story
This virtual fitness community is a labor of love and was born out of a deeply personal process. My own path to pregnancy was long and winding. It was quite often paved with frustration, confusion, disruption and grief. Along the way, though, I felt called to lean into and learn from my trials in order to help others triumph. As it turns out, some of the most challenging moments were – and continue to be – the greatest sources of fire that ignite my passion for educating, encouraging and empowering womxn at every stage of their journeys to motherhood.
Professionally, I’m a dance/movement therapist turned personal trainer and, most importantly, certified prenatal & postpartum fitness coach. In the 7 years leading up to the launch of BodyWiseMama, I worked tirelessly with a diverse clientele of womxn with unique fertility, preconception, prenatal and postpartum health concerns. I also consulted with physicians, labor and delivery nurses, physical therapists, yoga teachers, acupuncturists, sisters, relatives, friends and colleagues about best practices for preparing womxn for pregnancy, labor, childbirth and postpartum recovery. These combined efforts built a solid foundation for the integrative fitness programs I’ve honed with live classes and one-on-one clients, and now offer online and on demand through BodyWiseMama.
My approach is holistic, creative and person-centered. My intention is always to move you from wherever you are starting towards feeling grounded, strong, uplifted and empowered! I believe that your body is amazingly wise and resilient. I’m committed to using movement as medicine in order to enhance your mental, emotional and physical fitness. I practice what I preach every day, and I’m honored to put this integrity to work for the BodyWiseMama community. Thank you for being a part of it. I’m so glad you’re here!
We started working together when I was 7 1/2 months pregnant. Right from the beginning working with Kate was great. It was hard work, but also a little like an hour getting to chat with a good friend. On top of all that she was able to push me and keep me in great shape through the end of my pregnancy. We worked hard together right up until my delivery. As I was breathing between contractions one of the nurses said, “Next contraction try to relax your legs, but keep pushing.” Instantly I heard Kate’s voice. So many times as she ran me through exercises she had asked me to do the same thing. In the end I pushed hard, but for 30 minutes. Then he was there; in my arms and perfect. I know this process was directly aided by my work with Kate.

Her knowledge of the pregnant body and its capabilities and limitations is impressive. Kate helped me balance my physical and emotional states so well. She truly applies a holistic approach to her training sessions and ensures both mind and body are taken care of. Kate made me realize just how much I was capable of, and helped me get all my pushing muscles ready for the big day! Although I was in labor for many hours, I pushed my baby girl out in 15 minutes!

Kate helped me tremendously in both body and mind during and after my pregnancy. She helped me listen to my body and tailored workouts to however I was feeling on a particular day. She knows so much about the prenatal and postpartum body and I always felt comfortable with her. I had Diastasis Recti and she knew which exercises were safe for me to do and how to help me build up my core strength slowly.
